Kate Tomkins & Lizzie Hubbard - Directors
Kate and Lizzie have combined their talent, experience and love for Cheer and Dance to create magic and success within Titan Athletics. They love teaching and creating beautiful dancers and always encourage them to work hard to be their personal best. In only four years, Titan Athletics has seen so much progression and has established a strong name in the competition world, having won 10 State Titles and 16 National Titles.
Kate has been dancing for 28 years and has coached Cheerleading, Pom, Jazz, Lyrical and Physical Culture for 16 years, specialising in pom technique and choreography - Kate won the Choregraphy Award at the Spirit Industries Spring Carnival competition in 2017, for her Titan Athletics Open Pom routine choreography. She is a Dance and Cheer judge and is a USASF accredited cheerleading coach, which is internationally recognised. Kate has represented Australia 3 times in 2011, 2012 and 2014 at The Cheer and Dance World Championships in Level 5 Cheer and Pom.
Lizzie has been dancing for 30 years and has shared her love of the performing arts by training dancers across a variety of styles such as Pom, Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Lyrical for the past 15 years. She has passed all dance examinations with honours under the Ballet Australasia Limited and National Dancing Association. Lizzie has represented Australia as an athlete in 2014 at the Cheer and Dance World Championships in Pom and is also a Dance judge and a USASF accredited cheerleading coach, which is internationally recognised. This experience, along with her Master of Teaching degree, has allowed her to create a cheerleading squad at her current school, becoming the Scholastics State and National Champions for 5 years running, from 2015-2019.
Lisa Tripodi - Musical Theatre, Rec Dance and Contemporary Coach
Lisa has been dancing since the age of 3 and grew up training in the styles of jazz, ballet and modern dance. For the last 20 years Lisa has been teaching and sharing her passion for dance and the performing arts. In 2004 she completed a bachelors degree from the University of NSW in Dance and Theatre Studied along with a bachelors degree in Education. Since then she has been a dance teacher and coordinator at a performing arts high school in Sydney developing and implementing dance programs for students in years 7-12. Throughout her time here she has also coordinated many Rock Eistedfodd teams, choreographed for musicals and showcases as well as run multiple dance ensemble groups and companies. She has also taken many year 12 dance students through their HSC studies with great results including band 6’s and Callback nominations.
Lisa also ran a dance studio for 10 years which is a very proud achievement of hers. She has been a member of the Titans Adult Pom team for 4 years and is looking forward to joining the Titans coaching team in 2019.
Amy Flanagan - Acro Coach
Amy began doing gymnastics when she was 10. She has competed at both State and National competitions up to national level 8. Amy became a women’s gymnastics coach at the age of 16 when she obtained her coaching accreditation through Gymnastics Australia and has coached gymnasts up to national level 6. Amy has also taken on the head coach role at Merrylands RSL Gymnastics Club. Amy brings 15 years of experience in both tumbling and acrobatics to Titan Athletics.
Emily Colussi - Cheer Coach
Emily has been involved in cheerleading for 13 years and has been trained in gymnastics and dance. Emily has been lucky enough to represent Australia at the Cheerleading and Dance World Championships four times in both Cheer and Pom. She has coached for over 10 years and many of her teams have become National Champions including our very own Lady Lions Junior Novice Cheer team in 2018. One of Emily’s biggest achievements was receiving Most Innovative Choreography at NCA Texas in 2017.
Maddy Losco - Hip Hop Coach
Maddy has been dancing for 14 years being trained in various styles such as Jazz and Lyrical however has developed a strong passion for hip hop over the past 6 years. Maddy has performed at various events such as the Easter Show, Sydney Flames basketball games, corporate business functions and has competed in competitions such as Bring It On Hip Hop 2016 and 2017, TET Festival 2017 and CheerBrandz State Championships 2016 in which she placed first at all of these events. Maddy has been coaching hip hop since the age of 17 and is excited to expand her coaching skills teaching both the hip hop teams here at Titan Athletics.
DANCESTEP - Student Teachers
Titan Athletics has been fortunate to become affiliated with the DanceStep program. DanceStep is a 4 level Student Teacher Education program and is a progressive and formalised process including both practical and theoretical components. DanceStep empowers students to take care of others and and guides them to be leaders and role models. These girls are all very excited to be become part of the coaching team this year at Titan Athletics.
